BDC’s Core Program continues in 2nd and 3rd grades with Foundations. Foundations is for those who aim to be well-rounded dancers, learning multiple styles.

Foundations
Foundations 1- 2nd Grade
Foundations 2- 3rd Grade
Foundations focuses on producing well-rounded dancers in ballet, tap, and jazz. The class will begin with a ballet section where dancers will participate in barre and center floor exercises to build their technique. Dancers will then learn a combination of tap and jazz/hip hop, developing a sense of rhythm while building strength, control, and coordination. Dancers will perform TWO dances in the Recital.
A Note about Ballet: Ballet is an essential component to developing as a dancer. All technical work such as leaps, turns, kicks, extensions, and body control stem from ballet training. The necessary understanding of body alignment and isolations come from ballet training as well. Ballet training allows dancers to quickly pick up the styles of jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop.
Tuition: Two separate payments of $755*
Costume Fee: $115 per costume (2 costumes)

Electives

Kids Contemporary
2nd-3rd Grades
In this 2nd and 3rd Grade class dancers will explore the contemporary style of dance which includes both lyrical and modern dance genres. Dancers will focus on using expression and emotions while dancing. They will use technique as well as unconventional body movements to convey a story or concept. Dancers will perform ONE dance in the Recital.

Hip Hop Hour
2nd-3rd Grades
In Hip Hop Hour, dancers will explore their individual style and dance to popular music. They will learn to move to the beat, building musicality, control, and coordination. Dancers will perform ONE dance in the Recital. Hip Hop Hour has a mix of grades depending on the particular class.

Jazz, Tap, Go
3rd-4th Grades
Dancers will learn the basic techniques of Jazz and Tap and enjoy fun, upbeat choreography. This class will build confidence, coordination, and creativity. Dancers will perform ONE dance in the Recital. This is a 3rd and 4th grade class.
